The attention of the Vodacom Business Africa (Nigeria) Limited (Vodacom) has been drawn to a purported false recruitment information & improper use of the Vodacom Business Africa (Nigeria) Limited (Vodacom) name.
Vodacom Nigeria, a Vodafone company, is aware of circulation of the false recruitment information allegedly posted by Vodacom/Vodafone in several media outlets, websites, and advertising job positions in the Company. Additionally, fraudulent recruitment exercises and interviews are reportedly being conducted in some areas and states by individuals purporting to be the Human Resources (HR) Managers or contracted recruitment agents acting on behalf of Vodacom Nigeria, with the intent to defraud their victims. These dubious elements have also, in the process collected money from some unsuspecting applicants under false pretext.
Vodacom Nigeria hereby dissociates itself from such false job recruitment information and offer of employment contracts published in any newspaper, websites, emails and others. Vodacom Nigeria did not make nor authorize any such publication or recruitment exercise.
Members of the general public are hereby notified that:
- Vodacom Nigeria does not, and will not require applicants to make payment towards processing any job application. Recruitment advertisements requesting candidates to pay money, at any point during the recruitment process, are not from Vodacom.
- Vodacom does not solicit job applications or initiate the process for recruitments via emails, posters, handbills, radio/communal announcement or text messages.
- Job advertisements from Vodacom Nigeria are posted on the website careers page and recruitment exercises are conducted in its Lagos Head Office.
- We therefore warn members of the public, particularly anxious applicants, to be wary of fraudsters, as anyone dealing with them would be doing so at his or her own risk.
